Berkeley All Blues Coach Search – WPL Season Fall 2017


The Berkeley All Blues Women’s Rugby Club is currently seeking a Head Coach for our WPL season beginning mid-August through Women’s Premier League Nationals in mid-November 2017. The ideal candidate is committed to working with elite, senior-level female athletes to build and maintain a championship-level team.

The Team

Founded in 1978, the Berkeley All Blues are one of the country’s top women’s rugby teams. The Club has won a combined total of 15 National Championships in both 15’s and 7’s rugby. The All Blues team consists of approximately 40 women dedicated to the Club and the sport of rugby. The Club welcomes athletes of all levels and current players range from elite to novice in experience. The Club currently participates in a competitive WPL season, a competitive and developmental 7s season, and a developmental D2 season. Several players regularly compete on the Women’s National Team. The emphasis of fall season is to compete at the highest level in the Women’s Premier League with the aim to secure another National Championship.

Coach Wanted: New York Rugby Club

New York Rugby Club (NYRC) coach needed. Assistant coach for the men's program, responsible for assistant coaching the D2 squad and head coaching the D3 squad, operating out of Manhattan. Seeking to fill immediately.

Program details: NYRC is an 85 year­old club with 2 men's squads, a women's program, and a boys and girls high school program. The D2 men's squad is entering Spring 2015 playoffs as #1 seed. The 2013/14 D4 squad won the division, advanced to D3, and is entering Spring 2015 D3 playoffs as #3 seed.

Job overview:

  • Attend 90%+ trainings, and 90%+ D3 games. In­season commitment of 2 trainings/week plus 1 weekend day.
  • Collaborate with the head coach to determine practice plans, season trajectory, and game rosters.
  • Must be USA Rugby Coach certified (or equivalent)
  • Opportunity to head coach the summer sevens program.
  • Experience coaching back lines preferred.
  • Year­round participation preferred.
  • Compensation in $1,500­$2,500/season range, negotiable, and based on qualifications.

Coaching Position Wanted: Kent Lambert

My name is Kent Lambert and I am currently seeking a head coaching role. I have over 20 years’ experience as a player at the highest level and as a coach. I have coached both female and male teams at club and representative levels. I have spent many years in the administration side and can appreciate all aspects of the role. 

I have managed hotels for over 20 years and have a solid understanding of people. I have vast  experience dealing with players, sponsors and committees and feel that I would be a valuable  I made the difficult decision to leave coaching as I could not commit the time I wanted due to business commitments and then left the country shortly after. I am now able to commit all my time to my passion of coaching and feel that I would be a great asset to your organization.

I have coached a varied range of rugby players in ability and performance level. Throughout this contact I have maintained a professional approach to every situation with the purposed of bringing out the best in players. I have a very strong connection to my cultural roots of rugby from New Zealand this further connects my relationship with players and what it takes to develop as a player in today's conditions.

My ultimate goal is to coach the highest level of rugby possible, remain innovative and challenge the boundaries of the game where appropriate. I have no hesitation that I can contribute to a rugby organization in the areas of long term development for positive outcomes on and off the field.
